Hey y'all--

I have 2 94 GTXs, which I've had for 6 months or so. One of them has started giving me trouble. After ~20 minutes of running perfectly, it drops RPM and loses power like I backed halfway off the throttle, then a few seconds later, it picks up and runs fine again. It goes thru this cycle every ~5 seconds or so. I made it to a boat ramp, parked it and my wife on the beach, and rode the other ski back to the truck.

I had a corroded core plug in the expansion chamber fixed, put in new plugs, cleaned the fuel filter, then headed back to the water.

Ran great for ~20 min, then started doing the same thing. Except this time, it did the up-and-down thing for just a minute or so, then would only run slightly above idle. It ran smoothly, but would not rev. I stopped and shut the ski off a couple of times, then restarted, and it would rev properly and accelerate quickly for a second or two, then drop back to near idle power.

I see from reading the forums that I need to replace [edit] the gray fuel lines on this ski; the other ski already has black [/edit], but bad fuel lines wouldn't cause temperature-related symptoms, would they??

I'm thinking I have an ignition problem. What do y'all think?

edit for more info: cold compression is 145 on both holes. Old sparkplugs showed clean tan burn. New forward plug (~20 min use) was slightly wet with fuel, while rear plug was clean & dry.

thanks!!!
