 I recently acquired a 1994 GTX and have the shop manual. I have done various levels of repairs on mechanical items in the past. I have the erratic (surging) problem that I have seen so often in these forums. The gray fuel lines are still there and I am in the process of changing them over. Looking at the exterior of the carb, I would say that it probably needs to be rebuilt. A few questions: Do I need a kit to replace many of the seals, internal parts and such? And: The shop manual says to remove the various cables prior to removal of the carb, but doesn’t say how this is done. I am particularly confused by the choke cable, there appears to be no way to disconnect it at the carb. If I can’t figure these out, do you think that maybe I should stay away from overhauling the carb? The detailed steps posted by qstorm do seem easy to follow. Finally, is it possible to extract the small filters in the carbs without removing the whole assembly?
