93 XP questions, Just got Seadoo

Just got (2) 93 XP seadoo's for $100. Seemed like a good deal and atleast worth my time to try and get one running again. One is just a parts seadoo but has everything, just in pieces. The other one is in decent shape but supposedly needs a stator. I used to work on polaris watercraft in college but have not had a lot of experince with seadoo's. I am capable of cleaning carbs, pulling motors and pumps and routine maintance stuff.

Trying to read up a little bit on how to test the stator. I do have a used stator also, Anyway to bench test it or would I be better off buying a new one instead of chancing the old one. Any other tips to get this ski running? It has been sitting for about 5 years. I am planning on checkking compression, draining fuel, changing fuel filter, plugs, fuel lines, cleaning carbs and looking at the elctrical stuff or changing stator.

How reliable are the oil injection systems on these? SHould I block it off and premix or are they pretty good? anything to help me out is appreciated!!

No, the stator in the mag is a pretty tough puppy to break. They can burn out, but you should see a color difference in one of the phases if this has happened.

You can also do a test on the phases. Do a continuity test on the yellow wires. They should be infinite. If not, one is grounded and you do have to replace it.:cheers:
