I removed my sending unit found the magnet in the bottom of the tank put it back in the float but as soon as I install a float into the bottom of the tube I get no resistance or a full reading and I get no variation as the float travels up or down the sending unit has anyone heard of this if so is there a way to repair it. thanks for any help

These are a common failure.

Both the magnet and the baffles go bad. One member here rebuilds the baffles and Seadoo has an update to the magnet / float units.
