I'm new to this site and I'm curious about my 1993 sp seadoo. We are just trying to crank it for the first time in about 2 years and after replacing the spark plugs and the battery, we got it fired. However, it runs very rough and won't idle at all. We have water running through it but it is back firing the whole time the throttle is wide open. It will not idle at all so we have to hold the throttle open. I am curious what your suggestions are. We figure the carburetor needs to be rebuilt so I was hoping ya'll could point me in the right direction. I need to know how to take the carburetor off and possibly a manual or diagrams to show me how to do this. Any help or advice is greatly appriecated.

Also just a shot in the dark but if anybody knows a person in the middle georgia area that works on seadoos that would be great. Thanks

Carb...?

The carb on this ski is a simple floatless carb. There are two bolts that hold the carb on the motor. Once you take them off and disconnect the linkage, there are two sides to it. The fuel pump side and the needle valve and jets on the other side.

If you can pull something apart and lay it aside and put it back together in the steps you took it off, then you should have no problem cleaning this carb.

Taking off the fuel pump, checking the micro mesh filter would be the first thing I'd do.

And if I'm reading your thread correctly, .........I hope your not trying to hold wide open throttle while it's running on a hose. If so, you are not creating any torque on your motor so I'm sure your hitting the rev limiter, which is going to make the engine miss. That's what it's suppose to do. ...........
