I have a 93 GTX and it seems that the enging is not constitently getting spark. Most of the time the engine will turn, but not start. When it does start, the engine runs only for a few minutes before shutting down. I had a couple of different shops look at it but they didn't find anything. I replaced the handlebar kill switch, ignition coil, battery & fuel filter but nothing seems to help.
Any suggestions?

You might want to check the wiring for corrosion on the safety lanyard. It might not be getting a good enough connection under load of running.

Hey Timmboy76,
What is cutting the plug wires going to do? And I assume that once they are cut, replace the boots, right?

yep...the ends get "corroded" mak'n contact very weak to throw a good spark...

Also ,if that dont do the trick, think you need to look down inside the stator assy...

Check that brain box or what ever you call it on a 93. Samething happen to me a year ago and had to replace the little black box after market coast around $200

Alright, I have cut down the plug wires, per Timmyboy86. And the coil & landyard were replaced last year but neither fixed the problem. And 587 engine does not have a stator like most other models/engines.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
