92 XP Drive shaft hull fitting removal

I have located the leak in my 92 XP. A nice stream of water was flowing in from the hull fitting where the seal carrier hose clamp attached. I removed the jet pump to replace seals in seal carrier (I thought was the culprit). The bottom edge of the hull fitting was shot. There was a 1"+ crack around the bottom edge. I am trying to remove this hull fitting to replace it. It is not cooperating. As difficult as it is I am begining to wonder if this piece was not meant to be removed. It is pictured in all of the schematics as a piece of the drive system. I assumed (yea I know how you spell it ) it was a replaceable item. I can see the seam within the drive tunnel where it marries with the external most angled hull fitting. I have heated the hull fitting and gotten it to separate from the fiberglass in a few places as well as pretty much trashed it. Don't worry fire safety folks, I used a 2' long pipe and shot hot air to the piece from the top and from behind. How the heck do you remove this piece??? Am I on the right track??? Am I screwed???

It shouldn't come out.

I just did this Myself.
Purchase a thru the hull repair piece.
I removed the pump.
I sawed off everything on the inside.
I used a piece of all thread some nuts and washers.
and pulled the piece into the hole from the back of the boat.
It was a hard pull but it went in tight.
The nylon sleeve stays in the boat.

did you use an adhesive??

I just ordered a metal insert piece. The company I am buying from recommends Marine-tex to bond the piece in. Did you do this??? What part did you purchase?? I like your press/pull in idea. Did you heat up the original piece some??? I have some "dressing" of the original to do. I chewed it up trying to remove it. I also bought a seal carrier complete with new seals that is oem equivalent( not Seadoo). Any experience there?
Thanks for responding. I thought more folks would have responded with experiences.
