92' SP Spark Issues

I've got a 92' SP with no spark.
I had trouble with the battery after "trickle" off-season storage.
I placed it on a charger,..still had no "balls".
Tried to start the ski with a charger "start" mode...no dice.
The compression with the plugs IN was too much for the charger.
SO....
I replaced the battery & had a successful start.
Now spark went from having intermittant symtoms a few times to total no-go.
So far I've....
1. Checked the plugs with fresh ones (when this first occured)-same results.
2. Checked handle-bar "kill" switch - tested OK
3. Checked MPEM modual via Multi-Tester method- all readings within manual specks' by +/- 3 ohms. ("infinite" readings checked right-on.)
4. Checked Ignition coil last night.
FYI- I was measuring resistance btw the #1 & #2 spark plug cap area.
Am I measuring the "Secondary" Resistance wrong or what?
Readings from my Manual called for btw 9-15k for specs (if I recall correctly)
I had to switch my meter to 20000k setting just to see reading.
Does this coil look like a "wash" or what?
:banghead:

signed,
NOT DEALER -FEE READY YET!!!

cut the wires back from boots 14/in, and see what happens, but coils all day on ebay or any other part, real cheap...

Cutting Wires

Trimmed the Coil end of each wire last night eve'.
But looking to do the plug ends tonight.
& put the MPEM back in...

Thx

Never use a charger or a running engine to jump start your seadoo. It will cause problems to your MPEM and other electrical componets. Check the fuses inside the mpem, to be sure you didn't blow one.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Well,...to bad I never knew that before I did that...oh well.

Tonight I trimmed the plug end of the wires & reconnected MPEM.
Still no spark.......
Thinking it may be $80.00 diagnostic fee time?
Or?

at a loss...........:confused::confused:

MPEM Fuses?

BTW,
I checked the fuses in the electrical box....if that's what fuses you suggested.
I did that after arriving up-north & finding no spark present.

thx again.

disconect the mpem from the ignition coil and see if u have spark, most prabable cause for no spark

Disonnecting MPEM

That's OK to do?.
If I recall the only line running from the MPEM to the coil is a Blk line.Correct?
Then the spark possibly can occur?

Thx again all.

Mpem Test

Well,,,I disconnected the MPEM red/black lead from the ignition coil terminal and held the plug near the plug port, hit the start button and BOOOM..SPARK!!!
Enough that I even got a poke'...lol.
Well well,..I'm guessing the MPEM WAS the issue?
Great,,I got a 4 day pending E-Bay bid on a coil I don't need...lol.
Hoping I get out-bid now...lol
I guess it's time to shop for the MPEM?

THANKS GUYS...BIG TIME.
