Hello all...Any Help is greatly appreciated.

I have a 92 seadoo xp. This problem has been going for a while now, but I'm tired of dealing with it now.

The ski starts like a champ when cold. I can take it out and ride it all I want as long as I don't shut it off. Once the engine gets hot if you kill it it won't restart for about 10 min.

The last time I was out. I killed it when I got to the dock and put a spark tester on it. No spark. Wait about 10 min and I'm good to go again.

Any suggestions...

Thanks,

Ben

Sorry...I'm new to watercraft....Are you refering to the spark plug boots.

Did not know these unscrewed. They have a zip tie at the base of the boot where it connects to the wire.

Also, out of couriosity, why would cutting the wire 1/4in make this stop?

it will give you a fresh connection, buy cutting the wires a bit. I would also look at your coils and other lectrical componants it sounds like something is on the spark end is shorting out when hot, like a breaker

Good ya'll!.....

:agree: This is good info. Cutting 1/4 of the spark plug line, will give you better contact.

If your riding till the ski gets hot and it cuts out on you, then it's possible that your coil is about to go south on........

I don't understand what you mean by cut 1/4in . Is this at the coil end of the plug wire or the spark plug end.

I don't see how anything would unscrew. At the coil end, the wires don't appear to seperate from the coil. At the spark plug end there is the wire going into the boot with a zip tie around the base of the boot, but nothing appears threaded to allow something to screw in/out.

Are you saying that if I cut the zip tie I should be able to unscrew the boot?

This is a 92, not sure what a newer model might have. Am I missing something here?

take some silacone spray, and spray the spark plug wire were the boot is and pull the boot back towards in the direction of the coil to to far a few inches then with some need noce plyers gently open up the steel pin cut wire about half inch then strip insalation back quarter inch then put metal pin back on and tighten with need nose plyers. the reson for silicone spray is it will help boot slide better. it is real easy just take your time and dont cut your finger off lol.
