I have a 92 GTX that stopped dead in its tracks while running with the throttle wide open this weekend. When I try to restart it, the starter clicks once, but nothing turns over. I removed the flywheel cover and the shaft advances a bit when I hit the starter but that's it. I know its not the starter because it died while running. I dropped the battery from one of my other skis in it to see if it was a bad battery but I had the same result. The intake is clear and nothing is blocking the impeller.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Pull the spark plugs and see if it will turn over. If you pull the plugs and it still don't turn over you might have a big problem. That's where I would start.

Thanks! I'll try pulling the plugs.

Just for my own information, why do you think it may be the plugs?

I dont think he was thinking your plugs were bad, he just wanted to see if you blew it up . It kinda sounds like it, check compression first just to be sure. The compression sould be around 150 the closer the better. less that 100 you are in need of a rebuild.

(When the plugs are out it should turn over easier.)
If it doesnt at all then its locked up
