Hi all, I recently ended up with a 91 XP that the previous owner claimed to have never run in the 2 years he had owned it. I am attempting to get it running before putting any big money into it. I notice that the tube from the oil tank to the engine appears to have been crimped by vice grip pliers or something similar by the marks on the tubing. That does not look right to me. I also note that the tubing and rubber nipple fitting on the end are about 1.5" short of the hole in the bottom of the oil tank. If this machine was run like this it would have had to use oil mixed with the fuel. Is this doable and would a 50:1 ratio be OK? I am thinking I should replace this oil line but wonder if a fuel/oil mix is good for temporary use?

Here is a picture of the line. I have done some more research since my post above. I won't try and use mixed fuel, that just isn't right. I will replace or add on to the line and put oil in the holding tank before trying to see if it will run. I presume normal 2 stroke oil will work.

Where does the other end of that line go?

No, you need to use only API-TC rated 2-stroke oil, nothing that says TCW-3 should go in your Seadoo.

It goes from the bottom of the injection oil tank and runs to the side of the crankcase. Thanks for the heads up on the oil type. All I found in the shop manual was "Sea-Doo injection oil".

I have also read that the unit must be running before turning water from a garden hose on. Does this mean that, because there is oil in the impeller housing, it can be run for short times without the external water?
