90 SP cavitation

Ok, I'm stumped!

90 SP cavitates on acceleration like the grate is clogged with weeds (is not). Worse with 2 people. I can ease into the throttle and keep the bite going until up to speed. Seems slow on top end though.

I first expected impellar or wear ring. Doing a visual, the impellar has no damage and the spacing appears to be close to 0.040". Will pull grate and measure this weekend. What else to look for?

Best place to source wear ring? Or a total kit (ring, bearings, seals) for a vintage SP?

Greg it sounds like the wear ring is either not sealed good or it has too much clearance. Click n the "parts" link at the top of the page for the parts you need.
