My 1990 Seadoo Bombardier GT (5810) will start right up, but it won't idle, you have to take off otherwise it'll die, unless while i'm coming in to dock i bring the fuel valve to about an 1/8th of the way from OFF. It still won't idle for long, but it'll kind of idle and die. And reserve only lasts for about 10 seconds. But it still pulls hard on the water. When your scooting along, you'd never know it has a problem until you let off the throttle. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Something wrong with your low speed fuel supply. Either your adjustments are off or trash in the carbs.

Fast reply!

So, how exactly would i go about resolving my problem. Low speed fuel supply i'm assuming is a rubber line (easy to find), but carb work? Is that something the a junior mechanic can do, or should i leave it to the pros?

You can do it yourself if you have a few tools and a little mechaniacal ability. It's a 19 y/o ski and unless the carbs have been rebuilt before I'd say it's about time for it. So....just check inside to see if anything is awry. As you take the carb apart, keep track of which gasket and/or diaphragm goes where as they will have to be in the correct location when you put it back together in order for it to run properly. And you might want to consider going ahead and rebuilding the entire carb while you're in there.

Those round body carbs might be a tough rebuild kit to find. I'll look around to see what I might be able to find for you.

Another option might be to change over to the new style super bn carb that actually has more adjustability to it and parts are more readily available. The 1991 GT came with the newer carb. I'll see what I can find on both options for you.

Looks like I have a setup I can put together for you. I'll send you some details via PM as soon as I verify all the parts you'll be needing.
