I recently purchased a 89 seadoo which I was told needed a carb rebuild for poor running. No problem there, all done and replace the fuel lines while at it. Only problem was everything was apart when I bought it and nothing was labeled in terms of the fuel lines and I have no fuel to the carb. From the manual I can get a good feel for where they should go but, I think some or one is missing. Does anyone have a better picture, maybe of their PWC that would help in identifing the lines or is there a better diagram somewhere?

From what I see it appears only 2 ports on the fuel pump where used the third is rusty. Also being a newb at PWC's how is the pump operated, vacuum?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Changed the fuel selector valve because when I tried to change positions it sheered off. Now I can't get any fuel out of the pump, has pulse from engine but I have no ideas after that. So the configuration I have now is;

New valve installed, 2 lines to the tank and 1 to the fuel filter; anti-cyphon valves not installed on pickup lines
Filter line to the pump, never removed
Pulse line to outer part of fuel pump
Feed line from upper port on fuel pump to lower port on carb
Return line from upper port on carb to tank

If any of this is right or wrong please let me know.

Fuel lines.....

Windsoar......if you look closely at your fuel pick up tube, you should see marks as to what goes where.

There are 4 lines. One for the fuel valve on position, reserve position (these go to your selector switch) one for your return line (back from your carb (mag carb if you have twins) and the vent line.

On the mag carb, if you know which line is your pulse line, the nipple under it is your inlet, the nipple above it is your return line.

Your connects must be tight so that no air can get into the fuel pump system. You'll play hell getting it to prime..

Good luck.........let us know if you have more questions reguarding the matter.:cheers:

I'm good with the lines from the tank, as they were not taken off until I changed the selector valve. I have single carb and am having a hell of a time trying to figure out of the 2 ports on the carb which is which. I thought the upper port was the return and the lower was the inlet from the fuel pump, but I don't see where the pulse line would go. Could the pulse line go to the fuel pump? If there is any other specific info needed just let me know and I will try to get it and I will try to get a couple of pictures of the carb and fuel pump if that helps.

Thank you for your help.
