Been out 3 times so far this year, most of the riding over 4400rpm this time was out with the GF cruzing around, runs very strong but under 4400rpm I get a sputter, like its missing or loading up, anyways hit gas, accelerates with out an issue, but when held at anything under 4400rpm it does it.

-last years gas still
-plugs seem ok haven't checked them after it does it
-32 hours on the ski and its a 97 GSX
-no issues over 4400rpm or under WOT

Ideas?

I would be checking the carbs, even with such low hours it is an older machine. Maybe they need a cleaning.. Does it have grey fuel lines? Is the engine STOCK? Have you checked the RAVE caps for a broken spring? The spring was broken on my water box regulator as well.

Raves is a good idea, but since it was always ran on syn do oil I'm guessing that wouldn't be the problem since it would take more than 30 hours to build up any sort of junk on the rave valves. But I should check anyways, never actually taken one apart before.

All stock at the moment...

As for the carbs and it sitting, I think this might be the case, I replied to a post on pwctoday and they mentioned needle and seat, and just do a carb rebuild as well which kinda sucks because of the low hours but low hours doesn't go well with a 10+ year old carb two stroke no matter how many hours on it.

This was winterized at the dealer, and this year before I bought it I had them do a summer check as well, you think they would have mention this, since all you had to do it run it to notice.

So this is what I'm going to do in order.
-Fill whats left in the tank with fresh gas, get some new plugs and test it.
-Order a rebuild kit and needle and seat for both carbs.
-rebuild them and clean carb filters

just replace the carb filters, and if your old needle and seats look good then just reuse them.
