787 stainless ring oring grease or no?

Hey , the manual states to NOT get any grease on these two orings for the stainless ring that presses up onto the carbon seal, but some here say to put grease.. which one should I do?

I was more worried about potential water intrusion - the manual says something about not getting grease those orings it as it could cause potential water intrusion.

Okay,,,I have never referred to the manual for that process,
