Hi All,
Just a quick sanity check here. when we took our engine apart we removed the cylindrical magnetic ring on our trigger wheel.. not knowing all that much at the time, we didn't draw on any marks to ensure it went back in exactly the same place.
Reading through the shop book the positioning of the magnetic cylinder is critical for the 787. there's a lump on the cylinder and a hole on the trigger wheel that need to be aligned. The 787 RFI has neither the lump on the cylindrical ring or a mark on the trigger wheel... I'm assuming that is because the triggering is performed by the second set of teeth on the trigger wheel which the 787 doesn't have.
Am I right or missing something?
Many thanks,
Ben
