Hey guys does anyone have a RFI crankshaft and can get me a measurement of the RV Gear outside diameter. The Rotary Valve brass gear is destroyed and I'm considering taking the crank apart and replacing the gear. I have a gear on a carb 787 crankshaft I can swap if that will work. I'm checking now.
Brass gear failed and everything on the shaft looks to be free so I'm gonna figure out what happened. I have a few spots on the crankshaft gear that have smooth wear patterns and they are pretty deep. I can't run that gear. It has to be replaced. Strange stuff going on for sure with this engine.
The OD of the gear on the RFI is 2.678"
The OD on the gear for the other crank (carb model) is 2.706"
