787 head cover replacement

If I remove the head cover and leave the head on the engine will I need to change the head gaskets? This is a 787 engine. Thanks

No......

No, if your talking about removing just the cover from the top of the head, then no, if the rubber is in good shape, it should be fine in re-sealing your water jacket. Make sure you inspect it for obvious signs of cracks cuts or if it had been pinched flat from the previous installation.

If you remove the heads, then you need to replace the gaskets.:cheers:
