787 hard to start once is off in the water

I just did a top end rebuilt on my 97 challenger 1800 starboard engine. Rus great, but once I turn it off in the water and try to start back on, it is hard to start got to hold trottle wide open and shoke to get the engine going. I need help.

Did you guys do rebuilds recently? did you use actual Mikuni rebuild kits? There are issues with the aftermarket rebuild kits, and those problems show up as hard re-starting.

So you think I need to get a carb rebuilt kit on it?

If you haven't done a carb rebuild... then that's a good place to start.

Same problem for me too on my 95 XP 800 ... sounds like the carb kit is the first place to look.
