Give a very good descriptive view of the problem that you have and then you will receive some very good info that should be your best cost afective result. Good luck Robin:cheers:

The problem is that the Rotary Valve Shaft is in the center of the cases and between the cylinders. It receives lubrication from the injector tank and uses the same injector oil. Over time the seals on each side of the shaft start to seep oil into the cylinders and burns with the injected oil and the fuel. The way to cure the problem is split the cases and replace the seals by rebuilding the crank. The cost could be like $275.00, for the rebuild.

I hope this helps you decide what to do.

i forget who he was, but a junior member on here said the grooves in the crankcase for the bearing locating pins weren't cut deep enough, causing a too large gap between case halves. and that the sealer breaks down, causing the leak. if that is the case, one could just dremel the grooves bigger and reinstall the crank. has anybody else seen or heard this?

I do not know but that is why I like this place you will allways find new things out on this site weather they are true or not, keep an open mind and you will find out the facts. I beleive the quoat about the bad machine work with the pin not seating properly was from Otis.

Thanks Guys for all your input I guess I'm gonna replace the crank shaft oil seals(outer seals) my self ....well if that don't work ...well.... have to pull out the motor again.... arrr..amit!

:agree: It is the inner seals. They are on each side of the Rotary Shaft, between the cylinders.
