Hey guys, if any of you have a 787 crankshaft laying around, please help me out. I have a motor that I pulled apart to change out a few of the bearings on the crank and balance shaft. Well, upon reassembly, I found that this particular crank has no mark to align with the balance shaft. My other crank has a small hash mark on the gear, but it's very faint, and I'm not sure that it is the actual mark. This mark seems to be aligned with the MAG flywheel key and the MAG piston being in the TDC position. Could you please look on your crank and tell me if that is indeed the mark to align with the counterbalance shaft?

Thanks so much, I really can't wait to get past this dumb hurdle.

I think I found the answer: http://www.shopsbt.com/forum/t5264/
I took my crankshaft that HAD the mark, placed a small blot on the center of the lower connecting rod pin (to help align the center of the pin with a tooth on the gear.) From there, I counted the number of valleys on the gear to reach the one with the mark. It was 22. This is confirmed because it took exactly the same number to get back to my origin. So that's where I placed my mark. Like in the link I posted above, the weights come together and apart as described. The center of the weight also aligns with the case as described. I hope like hell this works! Good luck if you ever face a similar situation ;)
