787 case inspection

Hi, I’m new to the forum stuff. I am currently trying to rebuild my 2005 seadoo gti rfi std with a 787 motor. The motor went out on me on the water it was the crankshaft bearing for the rod that is towards the pto side that gave out. So I have split the case and found gouging at the bottom is the case still okay in this condition?

Also, how can I tell if the balance shaft is good? I’m assuming just testing the bearings.

Here is a photo of the bottom case.

As long as there’s no cracks or holes the gouging won’t cause a problem.

Balancer shaft always gets rebuilt with a fresh crank.

@dansquiers was rebuilding balancers for a reasonable price.

Okay thanks for the quick reply I am looking to get both rebuilt. I did have a problem with getting the pto off I broke my impeller tool in 2 when trying to take it off also.

Impeller tool isn’t good ion the PTO as it can damage the splines.

A bunch of heat and a chain wrench with a hard hit will pop them off.
