Hi Guys,

I just bought a used 2008 RXP X 255 with 41 hours. The previous owner did not use it often and last maintenance was done at 10 hours probably 2 years ago.

I'm hitting 7850-7900 rpm with a gps speed of 65-66 mph the water is pretty rough today tho..

Is that a major concern ?

Thanks!

what was your air and water temp? usually we loose rpms the hotter it gets outside..since the last time its been worked on was a couple years ago i would throw a fresh set of plugs in the ski and see what happens

BUT if your gps speed was 96 in the rough then you have nothing to worry about and we should all be asking whats done to your motor haha..

96 mphz?

If you mean 96 mph and that is accurate then the jet engine in your RXP is peaking at an RPM that is likely too low...LOL.

Mmm...

Well yeah sorry lol. I meant ao say im getting 65-66 mph but the water wasn't very calm. I'll try again tomorrow as it's forcasting less winds..

I'll bring it for a full tuneup perhaps this will help.

I just want to make sure that there is nothing major with the seadoo if it's running at 7900 rpm and 65-66 mph.. Any input ??

Not exactly sure about the top speed, but my new 215 wakepro will top out at 65 mph in ideal conditions. Your RXP could likely be faster at the top end but I'm not sure when the top speeds started to be goverened to around 68 mph as I thought this was a US coast card requirement. Anyway, various condtions including water, wind, humidity affect performance. I will look to see what my maximum RPM is tomorrow when I go out on the water. Yours seems okay. Are you using premium fuel? That makes a difference.

Hey Folks,

I tried again this morning on calmer water and my results have improved.

I get 8050-8100 RPM at full throttle and a GPS speed of 67-68 mph...

So looks like i'm good to go with this new machine and can now enjoy it without worrying something is wrong ??

Thanks!!

At WOT I get 8180 RPM. Calm water, about 72 F. At full speed about 8020 RPM. At full speed of 65 mph, fuel consumption is 17 gal/hr.
