What is the difference between these two 720 rotary valve covers?
The one with out the cut out notches on the smooth is 290811252 J15
The one with the cut out notches is 290811252 A J15
The are both said to be from 1998 models. My 2002 Sportster LT has scored valve covers and it has the style without the notches. Could the notches be oil delivery for the smooth face? In which case this would prevent it from getting scored in the future? If I used the one with the notches, would there be an adjustment in oil setting needed?
