717 to a 951?

Has anyone pulled a 717 and stuffed in a 951? I am working on a 2000 gts. I am going to pull the engine anyway might be a good time to perk it up a bit. I was wondering if it would fit.

While anything is possible, it would not be simple and would be very expensive. Different pump, motor mounts, electronics, exhaust, basically everything. Many people have done this on the X4 hull which would be pretty similar to the gts so it can be done but not sure if it makes sense just to gain a little hp. You'd be money ahead to just buy a 2000 gtx with the 951.

From what I've seen the 1100 Kawasaki is an easier swap from a 717. I believe someone makes a modified motor mount to drop in.

Thanks guys. Im just thinking it would be nice to have a sleeper. I did see a 1100 for sale with no title. So its cheap.

I found a 2001 gsx with the 951 for cheap. Might pick it up this weekend. Hasnt ran in a while probably a parts bike.

Honestly you are wasting your money and more importantly time doing this in a GTS hull.

Well I did pick up the gsk. Its a 2001 model with the di 951. Really doesnt look bad. Egine turns over and has compression. I might just keep this one instead.
