New Seadoo owner so looking for some advice. I have a 2001 GTI with the 717 Rotax. It starts fine then takes way to much time before it will accelerate. I have to feather the throttle for a while, maybe 45 sec. to a minute before it will accelerate. Once it gets going it runs great for as long as you stay on the gas. Once you slow to idle it does the same bogging down until I coax it up to speed. Any thoughts?

First stop running it as you are lean and will ruin the engine.

99.9% of the time your exact issue is from the carbs or fuel system not providing fuel due to old or dirty components.

New fuel selector, clean the fuel strainer and install new square o-ring and rebuild the carb with only Genuine Mikuni parts following the carb rebuild thread sticky here to the letter.

Wow, I had no idea it could be that serious. I will take care of this as soon as possible. This ski was hardly ever used over the last 15 years so before I bought it. I thought that was a good thing, but maintenance was apparently not done well. Thanks.

A couple questions--I have ordered some parts to do what you recommended. Is the fuel "strainer" the same as the fuel filter? The o ring number on the parts list for the fuel "filter" is 275500090. Is that the correct "Square" o-ring you mentioned? Also in your reply at the end you said "Thread sticky here to the letter" What is that. Thanks
