5 flashes

Hello from Bali and happy New Years. I just bought a very used 1997 GTX. So far I’ve had two manifold leaks patched and found the left rear motor mount broke or not attached. The water test after the fixes went well except I have to ease on the throttle to get her to move. It seems to go pretty good once up on plane but there’s a ton of cavitation if I throttle down hard with little to no movement. (Hitting the rev limiter). (The electronic gauges don’t work) When I take out the key and start her back the red light flashes 5 times. I’m new to PWC’s but can fix stuff. There are no parts in Indonesia that I have found so far for this old of a ski. Any advice would be appreciated. Stoked to have her but I want to start fishing with her and maybe some tow in but not the way she is. Thank you in advance for ideas.

Sounds to me that you likely named the issue. There is a couple things that could lead to your symptoms.

1 would be that the carbs need to be tuned. You could be loading up at low throttle and clearing out the excess gas when full throttle

2 would be what you mentioned. The cavitation is so bad that your ski is struggling to get going. If this is the case you'll probably discover after the repair that it's faster even when on plane.

I'm not sure about the flashing light. Someone with more knowledge will speak up. But I imagine that it has nothing to do with the symptoms your having
