4th Annual Tour de Virginia Ride

Come join us on our 4th Annual Tour de Virginia Ride on Saturday September 12, 2015. This ride will take us roughly 140 miles round trip from Hampton VA to Coinjock NC and back with the opportunity to see some great sites and scenery along the way. We will start off with a ride through the Norfolk Naval Base and the opportunity to see some of the great ships that make up today's United States Navy.We will then head through downtown Norfolk VA and a chance to see the USS Wisconsin up close. From there we will go through The Great Bridge Lock as well as several drawbridges that will test your ability to see how low you can go in your ski to get under them or we can wait until they open. We will then head through the Currituck Sound before arriving at our destination and turn around point at The Coinjock Marina and Restaurant in Coinjock NC
Below is the itinerary for the ride:
7:15 - 7:30am - Depart from Old Point Comfort Marina
9:30 am - Arrive at The Great Bridge Lock for bottom of the hour opening (eastbound)
11:00 - 11:30am - Arrive at Coinjock Marina and Restaurant for lunch and fuel
2:00pm - Depart Coinjock Marina for return trip
4:00pm - Arrive at The Great Bridge Lock for top of the hour opening (westbound)
6:00 - 6:30pm - Arrive at Old Point Comfort Marina
Please be sure to bring dock fenders and dock line so you do not scratch up your ski's. Feel free to also bring water and snacks.
There are several hotels in the Hampton and Newport News/Yorktown VA areas that are located a short distance from the launch site. Please contact us for that information.
