Are the 4-TEC supercharged or naturally aspirated motors for that matter designed and made to run WOT all day long.

Mike,

I'd like to know the same thing. What I'd also like to know is what kind of top speed do you get from your 255hp package.

Craigmri,

I'm still in my break-in period with only 2 hours on this motor, I want to go by the book on this one with the 10 hour break-in before I can go WOT, and I can't wait:hurray:. I sent a message to B.B. on this forum who you have had some chat with on his 180se 255hp for sale, and he said that he had it up to 53 on GPS, sounds nice to me.

My RXP 215 has 100 hours on it and I would say it has been run at WOT for at least 80% of that time. No problems yet! (knock on wood)

Did the break-in by the book on my 08 215hp Speedster. After the 10 hour maint, at just under 12 hours the blower disintegrated at WOT. Had run for about 5 minutes.

Good Luck!

Screwball,

Did you say your supercharger blew at 12 hours??? Did you get the usual warning sign of low RPMs? Do you jump wake alot with your speedster?

No, and No. The river was flat as a mirror, would have made for great skiing. We were coming back from Lake Havasu on the Colorado River. Thought I would see what she could do, so I jammed the throttle. About 5 minutes later started loosing power, oil pressure alarm among others went off, and the boat quit. It took 3 weeks for the dealer to get parts and another week to put her back together. Ran her for about 20 minutes before the oil pressure alarm went off again. They said some ' contamination' in the oil plugged the oil pressure sending unit. I had a screaming s*** fit, didn't you flush the block when you rebuilt it?????

Fortunately I have a 5 year extended warranty on the boat, and they threw in the free service with the warranty, so engines will be on them for a while!

Runs great now!

Is there any chance they used synthetic oil at the 10 hour service?? Clearly the 08 boats still have the ceramic washers. Scary that in your case there was nothing you can definitively point to as for a cause.
