Just want to give everyone an idea where to mount a dual battery in a 4-TEC Sportster. I struggled for a long time trying to find a secure location for it.
Here it is. I purchased a Seachoice battery tray 22021. Then to mount I drilled 3 holes in the boat. You have to be very careful as not all areas are double lined fiberglass, I accidentally put a few holes in the boat a few years ago trying to mount a battery. Pop rivets work great for securing the tray to the fiberglass. For the last mount I had to make my own mounting foot. For that I chose to use some 1"x1" acrylic square, cut, drilled, and tapped to for a stainless bolt to thread into. Then I epoxied that to the bottom of the boat.
This allow the battery to be secured tightly to the boat, next step is to install my perko battery selector and run some real gauge wire to the radio for my 9 speakers
