I am new to this board as of today so I thought I would explain my situation. After some family issues our 4 sea doos fell to the wayside a bit and sat in a field for almost 6 years. I made an attempt at fixing them last year but was met with limited success. I work on cars a lot but never boats and never carbs. Scared of em. here is the lot..
95' HX
Worst of the bunch. Starts, and idles. Take it out and after getting to max speed it slowly looses speed until full throttle is required to keep it stuttering a long. 10 seconds of this and smoke comes pouring out. Examining it from the trailer while flushing it out I am noticing oil in the exhaust, a lot of it.
98 XP
Generally runs solid but hesitates on it's way to full throttle, stuttering, momentary rpm drop and goes. seems like fuel to me
2 97 GTXs
Besides obvious power losses on both of them (compression is good) I notice a very distinct "grinding type feel" coming from the propeller or pump or something especially when exiting a spin or low speed manuever under power. Don't notice it unless full throttle from a slow speed. Impeller? There are other issues but I will search other threads before posting em here.
I'm doing new plugs and batteries but I was hoping for general advice as to how to proceed. I've searched the board and I still have the original hoses so I want to change all the fuel filters I can. Anyone have photos as to where they are? I'm sorry for the newbie questions but I have the fondest childhood memories of these boats and it saddens me that they have fallen into such disarray. I hope to bring em back to that showroom shine!

Hi sflash868 - welcome to the seadooforum.com website!

Boy do you EVER need to sign up for a Premium Membership. This provides access to the shop manuals for all of your boats. And by the looks of it , you are going to need all the info you can get.

At a glance, I have to say:
HX - carbs
XP - carbs
GTX - carbs (and probably pump bearing or wear ring)

So since you need to do carbs in a big way, read up on this-.Troubleshoot Fuel Delivery Problems : low revs, bogging, surging

Nevermind that last post, the parts diagrams are very useful in locating where stuff is! Great site.. Does the wear ring remove out through the pump assembly? Do I need a special tool. Thing looks like it is pressed in or something. I was gonna change the impeller and would like to do the wear ring as well.
