260 vs 300 RXP-X

Okay, so I'm planning on upgrading very soon but in looking at PX's, there are some serious bargains to be had with good 260's on the market due to the plethora of people wanting to upgrade.

My question is, I'm looking for someone who has owned both the PX in a 260 and in a 300 to give me their honest opinion on just how much better the 300 is? I'm a pretty competent rider and can honestly say I've extracted more than most will ever from my current ski. I've done all the reading and all the research, understand the differences on SC, Oil cooler, intercooler etc, etc... as well as improved midrange and little bit more in the top end.

What I'm interested in is opinions on the practical/experience differences. I will also say that I have had the opportunity to test ride both Tx and PX 300's but I have not ever ridden the 260's...
 
I don't have either, but probably the most appealing thing about the new RXP-X 300 is the maintenance-free supercharger. That'll save about $100 per year (average) on rebuilding it, plus the hassle. I'm not sure if you've seen the new colors, though. Their "lava red" is more like a burnt orange. If you haven't seen it yet, you may be surprised. I like the black with red or yellow highlights in the 260 models better. Good luck.
 
It depends on what you're looking for in a machine. If you can afford to buy new, I would buy new. You get the warranty along with not having to worry about a possible questionable maintenance history. The SeaDoo 300 has a noticeable increase in low/mid power and the re-designed intercooler will prove more durable than the 260 intercooler that had a significant failure rate.

As far as supercharger "maintenance" ... no, they aren't offering a rebuild on them any longer, but that does not mean it never wears out. It simply means that once it does wear out, they are suggesting you replace the entire unit with a brand new one. It actually works out to be more expensive in many cases.
