Hi all,
I am confused. According to the 250 optimax jet drive manual, recomended lube for drive and stator is mercury "premium" gear lube. Yet on the forum...the suggestion was to use the mercury "high performance" gear lube. Anyone know the difference and which one to use for this engine?
Thanks in advance...

High Performace Gear Lube + is what I used. You have to buy a hand pump to get the stuff into the gear box. It comes in a 32 oz. bottle which the pump fits into nicely. Any Mercury boat shop or big marine store should have it. I just did mine and it's not difficult.

Hi.

Where do you pump it in?
Do you have a picture?
I put some lube on the engineshaft down to the gearbox when i mounted my powerhead but how do you get lube in the gearbox without lifting the head?
Would be really nice to know.
