I have a 2000 sea doo challenger 2000 w/Mercury 240 EFI M2. I was running for about 10-15 minutes at approximately 30-40 MPH when the engine just shutdown. And then it wouldn't start back up till it cooled for a half hour or so. Once it did fire back. Idle about 650-700 rpm's it will then accelerate and run at 15-20 speed until it stops again. As if I had switched the key off or pulled the safety lanyard. I changed the head temperature sensor but the idle about 600. Any help please.

Thanks in advance, please Dr Honda

Sounds like its overheating. Have you checked the buzzer? There are 2 in the system. The one that warns of an over temp is the one mounted in the bottom of the helm.

Thank you Dr Honda this is my first boat and I've only had it for 5 months, the engine serial number is #0E384567 and I can't find the buzzer's location in the manual,
and to tell you the truth, I don't even know what the buzzer looks like. Could you explain to me how I can find it?

Once more, thanks in advance.

OK...

In your boat there is actually 2 buzzers. The one in question will be physically mounted in the fiberglass. Just look under the helm, and you will see a black plastic thing, with a hole in the middle. That's the buzzer.

Hi Dr Honda, I have replaced the buzzer, the temperature sensor, air temperature sensor too, I turned the key on and the engine ran perfectly for about 10 minutes at 950-1000 RPM. Then I turned it off, whenever I turn on again the engine didn't, start it try to crank but nothing I waited for 20-25 minutes ran again perfectly. I don't know what else to do.
Is it normal. That whenever I turn the key on a noise from the gas pump is heard?
Thanks
fred

At this point, you have to be methotical. Check the fuel pumps, check the vapor tank, check the injectors... and so on.

Hi Dr Honda, I was checking the oil injection components and I noticed that the fill cap of the reservoir oil was loose and is cracked on the top
I was wondering if this is the cause of my problems. I need to buy all the kit, do you know the part number please?

thank
fred
