Last year I bought a 2001 speedster with the 240 efi. Had the oil fail and ended up with a burned out cylinder #6. After research I decided to do the rebuild myself bc price. With the rebuild I decided to convert to premix. Finally got it all back together and it fired right up on the trailer. Mixed first tank 32:1 for break in. On the lake it runs fine up between 2-3k rmp but all mid range sounds like it wanted to die and did stall but then fired right back up. I then noticed I could hit it wot and back off to about 3/4 throttle and it ran great about 45mph from 4800-5500rmp(didn't want to go full throttle break in) ran great sounded great. Back off a little would want to die again inless down past 3k.

Anyone know what's up with the mid rang and cruising speed? Throttle position sensor? Timing off? The 32:1 gas? Some kind of wire mix up? I got the manual from here and fallowed everything the best I could but this was my first full engine rebuild. Any thoughts or ideas would be great!
Thanks

Proceeded to run it on and off for a few more hours and sounds great al the way till I loaded it back up as long as I stayed a hair above 3/4 throttle or a hair above idle. I put 20 gallons of 32/1 in and had about 5 gallons left. Should I start adding 50:1 now or run more break in mix?

I would run another tank full of 32:1.

I would check the TPS to see if there is a dead spot in it. Normally... the 240 doesn't have a mid-range issue when things go wrong.
