240 efi block question

:hurray:QUISTION FOR 240 EFI MOTOR MERCURY IF THE BLOCK IS BAD HOW WOULD YOU KNOW THIS GUESSING IT LIKE A CAR BLOCK IT WOULD OVER HEAT??????

Usually when they consider the block to be bad it is cause a rod came loose from a piston and knocked a hole in the block.If it has bad cylinders but is not cracked or holes busted in it, then the sleeves can be replaced or bored to make the block good again.
