Hey guys. I got a 2008 sea doo wake 230 with 430 hp. It had theten hour service yesterday, but I think the second engine mAy have an issue. Please help!!

The first engine runs at a higher rpm than the second. At 5k rpm the second runs at only 4600 or 4500. Is this normal or what may the problem be? I did not notice this untill today after the service

thanks!!

Check the oil level with the boat level in the water...it should be exactly in the center of the 2 marks on the stick. If one engine is higher then the other it will cause rpms difference too. I Have see this a bunch of times too. In my boat I keep mine exactly in the center of the stick for optimal performance. I marked my dip stick for an exact measurement.

Here is an easy way to see it the tech is bad or a bad spark plug. Behind the 2 tachs, switch the wires from one to the other and run it. Now left is right and right is left... if the same tach is still off it is bad...if the problem switched I bet it is a fouled spark plug. The dealer should have changed them at 10 hour service, but some don't. I experienced the same problem...switched my tach wires, which took 15 seconds and it was the tach bad. It was replaced under warranty.

Thanks. I'll check the oil first. But shouldn't the dealer have done that considering I paid alot for the service?! Also, how do I access the wires? Why would a spark plug cause lower rpms? I think the issue started After the service and they did change the oil. How come oil levels affect the rpm even if they are both in the correct levels?

I have had a fouled spark plug cause the same problem... If you have a fouled spark plug the other 2 cylinders are doing all the work of the 3rd fouled spark plug.

I have the same problem with my 07 230 Wake and the dealer told me the same thing that that is just how it runs. My RPM's have been different ever since I bought the boat brand new.
