Hello guys, I have a 2008 230 wake. I have a problem with the speakers on the wake tower. When i bought the boat they seemed to work fine. Now, the speakers cut in and out when the boat is underway. Sometimes the problem only comes when we hit some choppy water but not all the time. The other speakers in the boat work well..

Any ideas?

I am getting some warranty work done on the boat next week and was wondering if i should mention it.

Also, my speedo doesnt work. anyone else have this issue/ any other issues i should be aware of with the 230 wake so I can check before I drive to the dealer??

Also, is there any way to get a "true neutral"? even in netural there is still some forward movement. A friend told me this could be done.

Thanks again.

Anyone? I am taking my boat in soon and would like some advice. Anything I should look for while the boat is still under warranty?

Ok, this is gonna sound strange, but hear me out... Take your speakers off the tower (disconnect the wires first, lol!), bring them to a quiet area (here comes the strange part) and give them a little shake. Listen closely to them, chances are you're gonna hear water sloshing around in them. I had the exact same problem with the same exact boat last year and that's what it turned out to be. The customer left the speakers on the unit all season long, and for some reason, it seems that rain water got into the speakers "shorting" them out.
Your speedo problem, make sure the paddle wheel on the pick up has no obstructions. On the wake model, I believe it is, looking at it from the stern of the boat, approximately 2 1/2 feet towards the bow, just a little to the right of the v of the boat. If it spins freely and no "legs" are missing from the wheel, chances are the speedo pick up is bad and needs to be replaced.
The neuteral problem should be a simple adjustment of the pump buckets. Hope this helps out. The dealer may have a bit of a problem getting the speakers warrantied because Sea Doo dosen't warranty them themselves, the dealer is going to have to contact Clarion (I believe that's whos system is installed in the wake boat) directly and deal with them. The process sucks, when I warrantied my customers speakers, it took about 2 months to get the replacements, hopefully they got better with their claims. Hope this info helps out, the 230 is an awesome boat, probably my favorite in the line up. Couple other tips for that model: Keep an eye on your ballast pumps, they've been known to burn out, usually at the most inconvenient time (ballsat bags full, of course:)), and the scupper hose that goes from the passenger compartment to the outlet at the stern, BRP used a REAL thin grade hose that actually cracks in between the ribs of the hose, allowing water to leak into the bilge/engine compartment. Obviously if this isn't addressed, the boat is gonna take an unscheduled trip to Davey Jones' locker.
