Hi guys,

have been looking on Boattest.com.and there seems to be a huge variation in GPH. @ cruise of 28-30MPH it varies from 10.1 ~16 GPH on what is essentially the same boat, just different years. All have the 430HP engines.

Could someone give me a real indication of GPH at cruise speed. I have looked at the Yamaha 230 and 240 and they are 9-11GPH, I would have expected the Sea Doo to be similar.

Thanks for any assistance.

Cheers

You are asking a very ambiguous question.

1) what is cruse? a speed spec, or a throttle setting?
2) you can't say "Essentially the same boat." Different years means different impellers, weights, and hull designs.
3) when the reviewers were doing thier tests... how many people were in the boat, how much gear where they hauling, what altitude, and what temp?

I see a lot of tests like this, and they don't always follow their own guidelines, so numbers can be wildly different.

Sorry I cant be much of a help... but fuel #'s are hard in a boat, and you didn't let us know what you are even looking at. (other than a HP number)

As stated cruise is 28-30mph. What I have asked for is not rocket science, just want to hear from members who own 230's what gph they get.

Cheers
