Hi guys,

In the process of trying to work out what to buy, a Challenger 230 or a Yamaha SX240 or 242 Limited

The 230 is about 7K less with a 310HP which is only 10HP less that the Yamaha, but everything I have read suggests the you need 430HP.

Does anyone have a 230 with 310HP, I would appreciate your feedback.

Cheers

While the 430hp package is a total blast, the 310hp version can get the job done no problem. If I was going to purchase a new 230 i'd get the 310hp version, so I wouldn't have to service 2 superchargers.

That's funny, I went in the opposite direction.
08 Utopia 205 with the 430hp package.
I think the difference in the holeshot torque will produce a much better and exciting ride for me and my friends:)
I feel the yearly service on the superchargers is just going to be something else on the list of up-keeping on the vessel and well worth it:D

I only paid 20k for brand boat with the 430 package and 3 year service, but if I had the extra cash I would have gone with the yamaha boat without the chargers because I feel the overall quality and resale value is much better than the sea doo.
just my $.02

I agree and disagree!!:reddevil::boxing_smiley::rofl:

If it was me and it is the 23 footer, I might lean toward the 430HP package. However with the 20 footers like the Utopia, the 310 is just fine.

I say the 310hp powered seadoo is the best combination of performance, reliability and costs. In a 23'? If your on the fence between the Seadoo and Yamaha the 310hp should be more than competitive.

For me, if I had the money to buy a new 23' boat, I would have to go with the 510 HP wake edition. If you are gonna spend 49,000 on the challenger then an extra 6,000 isnt a problem. Of course I could never afford this, so this is totally me spending your money..lol

Actually, after further research, I could handle 510HP in a 20 ft speedster. Now there is some fun. It may even fit in my garage and is a bargain at $40,000.

I have wake510 and for cruising it a lot more that you need but when i did the switch from my 150 speedster modified to the the wake a would like to have 800h.p.
