210SP Bilge Pump

In between both engines centered in between the impeller housings, pushed closer to the back of the hull.

Thank you.
Last fall had some water in the underfloor ski Locker that wouldn't go away after washing the inside of the boat. Couldn't really hear if the bilge pump was working when i flicked the switch but thinking that the tube leading back to the bilge possibly may be plugged up causing the issue too.
Part of the reason why I wanted to know where the pump was because I want to test the float switch.

If you stick a screwdriver through the drain plug hole, it will hit the bilge pump. I'm not sure how I would ever replace it without cutting an access hatch into the floor of the rear wet locker.

With my 2010 challenger I can get to the bilge pump, it's a stretch and very uncomfortable but I could replace from the engine compartment if need be. When I bought my boat the boat had been sitting for sometime and the hose from the bilge to the hull fitting was plugged.

The auto bilge doesn't kick in until there's quite a bit of water in the bilge. If you want to test it, you can install the drain plug and fill the bilge with the hose. Pump should kick on even with the battery switch in the off position.

You should be able to see the pump without having to remove anything. If water gets more than half way up the pump and it still hasn't kicked on, then stop, as you may have an issue (dead pump, blown fuse, etc).

Here's a diagram of where it is located:

What's missing from that diagram is the muffler that conceals the pump.

I have the boat in my driveway and its sitting pretty level but the water from the under floor ski locker doesn't seem to be running back to the rear bilge where the pump Is. I do see some water in the area where the fuel tank is but maybe when the boat is sitting in the lake the water will be more likely to run to the back where the pump is ?

Try to put a stick in front of the trailer to kinda make the front stand up more causing the water to come out the back thru your drain plug. Not sure if that will help. But a boat sitting flat wont let the water go anywhere.

I'll always a pic of mine if you need me to.

I have also heard you can use a hose and fill the compartment with enough water to start the auto bilge if you have auto. Or turn it on.

Just like deadlokd stated, you'll need to get the nose of the boat up a little more to get everything to drain out the drain plug hole. The ski locker drain does not sit flush with the floor, so a little bit of water may stay behind at times.

To check your auto bilge switch, put the drain plug in and fill the cavity where it sits with a garden hose. If water gets past the mid point of the bilge, you may have an issue with the switch. If it fails to come on by itself, but works fine with the manual switch, then you have an issue with the internal float switch and will either have to replace the switch with a stand alone float switch or buy a whole new pump.

I have done the auto bilge test by pouring water directly into the rear area where the pump is. With the boat in the driveway I can put almost 5 inches of water into the ski locker and none of it seems to run back to the bilge. Maybe the Stern sits lower when the boat is in the water. I have owned a few Cruisers over the years and the rear bilge is where all of the water naturally collects because it is the lowest point in the boat but with these Sea-Doo boats I think the anchor Locker is lower than the path the water has to take to get to the rear bilge when the boat is sitting level.

Hmm. Have checked to ensure the passage from the ski locker to the rear bilge isn't plugged? Water should easily drain from the locker to the engine bilge. The only issue I've ever had is that the passage hole sits about 1/4" above he bottom of the locker so a little bit of water will remain when our boat is level. Once underway and the bow lifts, the remainder will drain out just fine.

The water seems to get dumped in the area of the fuel tank. ( I assume that's where the pipe from the ski Locker ends)
From there I don't know if there is supposed to be another pipe to take the water back to the bilge pump area or if the water has to get to a certain level then it's flows over the fiberglass area where the engines are mounted to to get to the deep well where the pump is.

Just replaced the pump on the 210 this weekend. OMG what a massive PITA and might be the worst job i have ever done on anything. I had to take off the starboard air box and muffler just to even get close to the pump. Once that stuff was out of the way I was able to lay on the engines and get in there. Unless you get lucky and find the exact same pump, you will also have to replace the base (comes with new pump) but note that they rivet that thing in; not screws.

I hope that was the one and only time I have to replace that thing.
