2024 Spark Trixx 3UP - Acceleration issue, sucked up some rocks

Hey everyone,

I picked up my first Sea-Doo, it's a 2024 Spark Trixx 3UP 90hp with IBR. I got about 25 hours on it now and it's been running great and performing as it should.

I went last week to hit some wild waves it might have been a bit too much.. I ended up falling off and the waves were large and powerful and I was getting pushed towards the shore. I was trying to fight the waves while trying to pull the 450lb machine deeper into the water as white caps are crashing down on me so I could board it again and take off. lol

I couldn't fight the waves enough to get where I wanted to be to take off again so I didn't have much of a choice I got as deep as I could while fighting the waves started it up and pulled myself over them but I sucked up a bucket full of rocks. I could hear them inside and the ski wasn't moving past 10 km/h while winding the RPMs up.

I rocked the ski side to side got it to pick up a bit of speed and hit a few more waves to try and knock everything out and I got it moving but it seemed sluggish still. I finally took it out the other day to test and prior to this I could get up to about 77 km/h and in the same conditions I was only getting about 73 km/h top speed and the ski seems sluggish pulling out of the hole, in trixx mode it doesn't feel like it has the torque to pull the front end up as fast/snappy and sounds like it's working harder.

I pulled it apart today and I can see the wear ring and the propeller has ate some rocks for sure, what I don't know is if this damage is enough to cause a slight decrease in acceleration / top speed. (I assume it is.)

So is this too much damage to ride with? Is it enough damage to cause the above issues? What damages could be caused if I was to keep riding with this damage? Cheers!

Yeha that would definitely cause your problems I would put a new where ring in it and smooth the edges of the prop with a file. Then put it back together should be good If still not good then It’s probably do for a prop but a where ring would probably fix it

Cool that's exactly what I was thinking a new wear ring and file it down for now because summer is almost over then throw in a upgraded wear ring and prop over the winter.

Thanks.

got to fix that so you can get back to your reverse donuts!

Haven't got those down pat yet, I always end up in the water! lol

I just filed down the rough edges and smoothed it out so I could run my finger across it without being caught/cut and filled the big gashes in the wear ring and smoothed it out for now to get a couple rides in before it goes into storage for the winter and to get the tune and bolt on upgrades.

Good as new got out messing around on the weekend and got out today for a little rip. Just waiting for the waves now!
