I've see the same problem with my brother's 2023 GTR 230 he purchased last fall. With a full fuel load he only hits 60, but as the fuel level drops I've see 63-64 MPH. The ski now has 14 hours on it, and the RPM won't go over 7800 RPM. I called Ski-doo, because when we performed the 10 hr oil change we pulled 4 quarts, 12 ounces of oil out of the engine. Skidoo told us that's way too much oil. So, we were cautious and pulled out 12 ounces and then went for a ride to check the oil (hot). Then we pulled another 12 ounces of oil out. The oil level is within limits now, but at the lower end of the safe range. The ski will still not go over 7800 RPM, and my 2017 GTR 230 easily outruns the 2023 GTR 230.
So, I contacted my salesman, and he looked up the specs for both the 2017 and the 2023 GTR 230. He said was the redline on the 2017 was 8300 (1503 engine, I'm hitting 8060 RPM), and the redline on the 2023 was 8000 (we're seeing 7800 RPM).
Since my brother is very competitive and doesn't want his younger brother outrunning him; he purchased the RIVA Racing stage 1 kit for his 2023. The stage 1 flash of the ECU will bump the rev limiter up to 8300 RPM. There are other go faster bits in the stage 1 kit; RIVA advertises the ski will hit 70 MPH with their stage 1 kit.
