2018 Seadoo GTI 155 Limited Jet Drive Service

I just purchased a sweet 2018 Seadoo GTI 155 Limited with 122 Hrs. The owner just had its 12 month service done (oil, plugs, etc) at a large Seadoo Dealership in Georgia.

The previous owner gave me the invoice for the work. On the invoice, they recommended a Shaft - Impeller, Angled Bearing and everything else to replace these 2 items. There are no notes on the invoice saying if they need to be replaced or not. I assume that this is based on hours/age? There is no mention of replacing the wear ring and the impeller itself. I called the dealership and he said that they would have recommended a wear ring if it was needed. I looked the the impeller with flash light and the ring looks great. However, the impeller and exterior shaft have a bit of rust on them. It was not a salt water machine (to my knowledge). There is no indication of any other rust/oxidation on the machine and I purchased it near Atlanta Ga.

So.. here are my questions:

1. Do I need to replace the Shaft - Impeller and associated parts? Is there a way to check the condition of these part?
2. Do I need to be concerned with rust on the exterior shaft?
3. Do I need to be concerned with rust on the impeller?

I will be only running it in a fresh water lake.

Thank you for any advice you may lend.

Dealerships recommend a lot of things that don't need done so they can make more money. Every driveshaft and impeller in saltwater turns into a rusty mess in just a few years and they still work fine. My opinion is don't replace a driveshaft just because it has rust. If your ski is running properly and reaching 60mph or so without cavitation and no water getting into the hull, then there is no need to replace anything.

Turns out the angle bearing and short impeller shaft are bad. We took the ski out and it ran great. It hit 59 mph smooth as glass. HOWEVER, everyone on the lake could hear it! It made a very high-pitched whine noise as soon as it was in the water. I guess we could not hear it out of the water since there was no load on the bearing. $600 and it should be as good as new!
