2018 RXT-X digital display faded/nearly unreadable...fixable?

We bought a used 2018 RXT-X last year and have noticed the digital display is washed out and difficult to read. A new gauge cluster is $700+. Has anyone experienced similar issues and is there a fix that works without a full replacement?

If a replacement is the only way, are they plug-n-play or does the new LCD gauge module need to be programmed in some way?

There are cluster repair services on Ebay.

This company rebuilds displays and can replace the film.

If you get a new gauge, it will have to be programmed by the dealer.
