I recently purchased a 2017 rxtx 300 with 80 hours on it and it was taking in water from prior owner. The carbon seal was replaced before I purchased this machine and that was supposed to fix the issue. I am now in possession of this ski and it is still taking in a significant amount of water. As soon as I leave the dock the bottom of hull is filled will water. To diagnose, I removed the piping going from the charger to intercooler and ran the ski and did not have any water leaking in the hull. I also removed the cooler and inspected the lines and everything looked good. Any ideas of we’re else to check?

I would just back the ski/trailer into the water with the seat off without the engine running and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and see if it leaks. If no leak, start the engine and see what happens.

I tried that. I also put water in the hull and let it sit in there overnight and got no leaks. I have a feeling it is a hose but I torn the intercooler and all it’s piping out of the ski this weekend and did not see any culprits. The water only comes in when I accelerate in the water. I also notice my supercharge hose imploding on themselves when I give it gas so I and not sure if the old owner had a issue with that and still drove the ski and it over pressurized something and blew it. I will be getting silicone charger hoses but it still doesn’t solve my water issue

Water in the hull only when accelerating (or most noticeable when accelerating) might be a symptom of a leaking exhaust cooling hose from the jet pump. Check inside the rear of your hull, where your rubber hoses clamp onto fittings for the jet pump. Make sure all the clamps are tight and not rusted and broken, and that the hoses are all firmly attached. Your jet pump sends water under pressure to the exhaust (and I am not very familiar with the intercooler system) and you may have a leak in your exhaust cooling hose or fittings.

Makes sense. I will check it out and get back to you on what I see.

My boats exhaust can was installed improperly after a dealer replaced the carbon seal. (Previous owner) and the can was clamped too far back on the rubber coupling resulting in it rubbing the hull. It wore a hole in the bottom corner of the aluminum can.

Same symptoms. Drive lightly, nothing to see. Full speed, it was like a faucet.
