2015 GTI 130 SE - Seems like it’s not getting enough gas.

Today I pulled my 15 GTI 130 out and took it on the water for the first time this year. (Worked perfectly when I put it up last fall) After getting it up to speed for the first time it started cutting out really bad. Sometimes it would give it power and start to accelerate, and sometimes it seemed like the motor wasn’t getting enough fuel and it felt like it was “shaking”. I limped it back to the trailer. I thought maybe the gas has gone bad over the winter (I added fuel stabilizer before storing it) since this winter was especially cold.

I’ve emptied the gas out of the reservoir and put new gas in there but have not had a chance to take it out on the water yet.

I noticed that every time I opened the gas cap, there was a strong suction on it. Even when the motor hasn’t even been ran. Is it normal to have a strong suction on the fuel tank? Could the problem be a clogged fuel vent? Here is a link to me opening the fuel cap 15 minutes after filling the fuel and driving home. The ski was never turned on between the last time I opened this cap.

What else could cause the ski to start to cut out while applying throttle?

Thanks

Positive pressure in the tank is good, vacuum is bad. I could not tell from your video. If it’s pressure try changing your plugs, always the first remedy, if it’s a vacuum the check valves in the vent lines could be critter plugged.

My first impression was that it was a vacuum, and not extra pressure. I’ll check when I get home from work and see if I can tell for sure.

If it is a vacuum, where is the vent line? I know there is one, but I was looking around for it last night and could not find it. Here is the area I was looking around in.

I replaced the spark plugs and took it out on the water earlier this evening and it was running perfectly. That seems to have been the issue. Thank you!!
