Greetings sports fans!
Back in 2022, FLgator posted a tread asking the community's advice ... should he let the shop change his wiring harness or his ECU to fix his IBR network faults. The original thread is closed, but we've finally got the problem resolved.
Here's the original post:
This led me to create a CAN (controller area network) 101 video.
One Bruce brought his ski over; we created a CAN 102 video using his ski.
This week, after months of waiting for a new IBR module; we installed the new module and had it married to the ECU at a local shop in Fort Walton Beach, FL (Thanks Jon!)
Bruce went for a ride today and the IBR is functioning perfectly with no faults or network issues. The bottom line ... if you have network faults, you need a lab scope and someone who knows how to use it to isolate the cause of the fault. The alternative is letting some shop load up the parts cannon and firing it at your ski. I conservatively estimate that proper diagnosis save Bruce over $4000.00 based on the shop's plan of action.

I'm baaaak. Still having problems with my ski showing check engine and IBR lights and going into limp mode....no rhyme or reason as to when. Could be 5 minutes or 45 minutes into a ride. Have previously posted issue and some suggestions were to check thermostat or run with gas cap open. The gas cap open worked for a while, but still went into limp mode....haven't been able to really check thermostat.
Anyway, took it again into the dealer and the estimate stated there were 19 occurances of one code--IBR CAN BUS curcuit/ECM failure. Check wires/connections and/or replace ECM. 1st step...
