Hey All,

I recently took my Speedster in to the dealer for it's 50 hour maintainance. While it was in there I mentioned that the ski locker had the gas spring come off that holds the door up and that there was some chipping on the edges of the ski locker. The dealer contacted Sea-Doo and is going to replace the whole door. That is the good part, the bad part is that I have to now get a new piece of Hydro-Turf ordered just for the door.

I contacted Hydro-Turf and am awaiting a response to see what that will cost me for that part. Has anyone else ordered just the piece for the ski locker?

Anyway, I will let everyone know what they say.

wow, 50 hours on a 2012? must be nice, I only hit 10 hours on my 2011... I guess I need to take mine out more often :(...

did you call them? (714) 635-6350, they are such a great company i bet they will do it for you!

I called and they said to send them a note with the details and they would get me a price. Still waiting to hear back. I am sure they will do it. Just wondering on the price.

I bought my boat in April and took it out at least one of the days every single weekend until August. Then some things came up and I didn't get out but a few times since then. Love the boat, It has performed very well so far for me and have had a great season on it. Can't wait until it starts all over in a few months.

do you go out alone a lot?

You can glue the old one with gorilla glue. Save your money

I am not sure how well the old one will peel off. I have never actually tried to remove it.

Hydro-Turf is sending me a sample to make sure that the color stock that they are using matches what I have on the boat. If it is a match then they will cut me the ski locker piece for $35.

For the $35, it is not worth trying to reglue it only to have it come off later on down the road and make a mess of things! As said above though- 50 hours? nice! My 08 that I bought new only has 52 hours on it lol.

It was really easy to put the hours on. Living in Florida gives me a long season and I plan an outing on some body of water at least one of the days on every possible weekend duing the late spring and summer. There is usually someone that will go out with me. I am sure that there will be well over 100 hours on the boat before the end of 2013.

True, I had my boat when I lived in PA, so rarely got to use it. Now that I am in Fl, it does get a lot more use. Still hard to put a lot of hours on it for me, I don't like just riding around, I need a destination to hangout, grill, etc. If I put an actual 3 hours runtime on the boat in a day long outing, it is a lot.

I agree on having a destination to hang out! That is how I spend most of my time on the boat. Still, a few hours a day and going out 20 days or more...it adds up quick!

I have explored the area around Ft Myers beach, Lover's Key and Sanibel. Have you done a lot of riding in that area?

check out the ride in orlando they are having, if weather isnt super cold, ill probably go !! i think its like middle of jan.

Good point, just not used to being able to use it often due to the crappy weather we had in PA- whenever we had time to take the boat out, it would rain- then winter came lol.

Not yet, honestly, I have had some issues with my boat since it came down here, so I haven't gone very far. I stick to Charlotte Harbor, Peace River and a little bit of the Myakka. Hoping to get more exploring done soon. I want to hit Cayo Costa, just a pretty good ride and don't need anything happening.

+1! Depending on how things are going here (baby due Dec. 19th!), I may be going as well. Should be a blast!

Wow your replies are awesome!

I usually take my kids, which is ok, but they get sick of it sometimes.. Right now its really cold in California, some days its beautiful out here and I can take it out, but since I sold my SUV Ive been having to rent a Uhual Truck to tow my boat. Ive been on the market for a used Toyota 4Runner but havent made up my mind or having had the luck on a good deal.

Funny, I have some friends that are girls that wanted to go with me, but my girlfriend would not like that at all, so I havent done it.

The funnest times I had on my "new 2011" boat has been "Lake Piru", and "Puddingstone Lake" (the only places Ive taken my boat out). By the way, my depth finder really helped me at Lake Piru, it is a very big lake, and me and my friends went to a body of water way north on the lake, and we saw something weird brown discoloration on the water of the lake, and when I looked at my depth finder it said 5 feet!!! wooooo.. wanted to share that story... (depth finder saved our butts I could have hit something!)
here is a google maps of Lake PiruL

I went to Castaic Lake but I only took my 96 XP 800, which I later sold. I also took it to Lake Mead/Mohave what a beautiful lake!

When I purchased my boat, they gave me 2 free nights 3 days at Avi Resort in Laughlin, but due to financial constraints I havent been able to make it (even if the stay is free :)... cant wait to afford it.

Watermaniac you are a smart guy, if you buy a boat its meant to be used, not stored away! So, as soon as I get my truck, Im going to take my boat out every chance I get!

This is funny! I have a few girls that like to go out with me as well. It is all good but sometimes my Fiance gets a little jealous if she can't go and I take the girls out. I am not sure if she is jealous of the girls or the fact that I am on the water without her. Probably both.. LOL

I don't know if I would make it out as often if I had to rent something to pull the boat though....you need to rectify that as soon as possible!

I received the sample from Hydro-Turf. The color is close but it is lighter than the rest of the boat. I am still going to go ahead and order it for $35.
